  • We provide a cost effective and professional mobile, 'to your home or office' computer service solution for the greater Christchurch area, covering every PC and Apple Mac computer issue you can imagine, including but not only, virus removals, email and internet setup, hardware upgrades and web design. We also offer hardware sales, PC upgrades and much more.

  • YES. If you are unhappy with our service for any reason we promise to correct the issue without charge or offer you your money back in full.

    If we provide a repair and the same problem reappears within 1 month then we will correct it without charge, however any new faults, virus / malware infections or problems that are unrelated to the original repair be chargeable. In all cases we will be fair and honest.

    All new products supplied by us are backed by the original manufacturers return to base warranty. All used or refurbished parts and computers sold are typically covered by a 1 month return to base warranty up to a 3 month return to base warranty depending on the item in question.
  • Will your technicians explain my computer issue in plain English?
  • We promise to not confuse you with technical jargon, and take great care in explaining every aspect of your computer issue in full and in easy to understand terms.

  • What does your service cost?
  • Onsite visits attract a minimum fee of $65 which includes the first 40 minutes of the technician’s time, and begins from the time our technician arrives. Each consecutive 10-minute block of time is charged at $15. Our rates do not include hardware or software, which are available from our technicians at the time of your appointment at extra charge.

    In addition to our time based services we are offer a range of fixed price services which are very cost effective, view these on our Services page. Prices are all inclusive.
  • Can I buy hardware or software directly from OhNo?
  • Yes you can. We carry a supply of common upgrades and parts in our vehicles, and all other parts can be ordered and installed the same day in most cases. We have great prices on all hardware.
  • Do you charge a call out fee for on-site services?
  • We do not charge a call out fee. However a minimum fee of $65 applies which includes the first 40 minutes service for all mobile call outs. Each consecutive 10-minute block time of is then charged at $15. Prices are inclusive of tax.
  • Can you offer a fixed price on a particular computer issue?
  • We do offer a range of fixed price services that are designed to both save you money and keep things simple. We will always attempt to provide an accurate quotation prior to service however providing a fixed price quote prior to examining your computer may not always be possible.
  • How much time will it require to solve my computer issues?
  • In general, most computer issues can be resolved within 1 hour, however due to the wide range of possible computer problems this is not always possible. If we feel your particular computer issue will require more time we promise to inform you in advance.
  • Do you provide service to business customers?
  • Yes. We are happy to provide a fast and professional on-site service at business or home.
  • What areas of Christchurch do you provide mobile services to?
  • We are happy to provide on-site service to any home or business located within approximately 15 kilometers from the Christchurch central business district.

    Locations outside of our standard service area may incur an extra distance fee. We will certainly inform you if this fee applies to your location when you make a booking. View our Christchurch service location map.
  • I don’t live in Christchurch can you help me at all?
  • Certainly! We are more than happy to travel to other areas of New Zealand so please feel free to contact us if you are having trouble locating a reliable computer service in your area. We have successfully repaired computers in areas such as Nelson, Wellington and Timaru. Please be aware extra travel costs may apply.

    We also accept mail in repairs off all kinds for those living where quality computer assistance is difficult to find. Simply contact us in advance and send your machine to the following address:

    Many computer issues can be solved remotely using our Remote Assistance service , which allows us to connect, diagnose and correct a range of computer problems via the internet, safely and securely.

    We charge a 1-hour minimum priced at $90 for all remote assistance, with each consecutive 10-minute block of time charged at $15. A broadband Internet connection is highly recommended for this service. This service is perfect for system tune ups, software installations, malware and virus removals and general troubleshooting however internet connection issues cannot be solved with this service since a secure connection to your machine relies on a fast broadband connection to get the job done efficiently.
  • How do I make a booking with Ohno?
  • It’s a piece of cake, either book online using our booking form or call (03) 377 4851 and speak with one of our friendly technicians who will discuss your computer issue with you. We are happy to explain our rates and any questions you may have. We will then take down your details and book a suitable time for a technician to visit your home or office. Urgent services requests and after hours call outs are also available.
  • Can I email my computer issue or question to you?
  • Yes, we are more than happy to your questions via email. Contact us using our online form here.
  • What are your business hours?
  • We are open from 8.30am to 7.30pm Monday to Friday and 9.30am until 5.30pm Saturday for all on-site services and drop off repairs. We are closed Sunday and on Public holidays unless previously arranged.

    Urgent service requests outside of these hours and public holidays is available by calling us on (03)377 4851 There is an additional 20% surcharge for all after hours service requests which is not applied to any parts or software required to complete your repair.

    We are available by email 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We will respond to emails received during normal business hours well within 4 hours and all other emails within 24 hours.
  • Do you allow drop off repairs at your workshop?
  • Yes we do. However since we are a mobile service it pays to contact us to arrange a time to deliver your computer to us. Our service includes pickup and delivery but In some cases you may want to bring the computer to us which is just fine. Our workshop/postal address is

    Note: It is very important if you choose to drop off a repair to us to arrange this with us first as we are a mobile service and so are often out on call outs. Please email or call first to make sure we are in the office
  • When I drop off my computer what do I need to bring?
  • If you are dropping off a laptop , notebook or net book we ask you include the power adaptor/charger. If you are dropping off a desktop computer we only require the main computer case and power cord. External monitors, keyboards or mouse are not required unless you would like us to troubleshoot issues with these components.
  • Can I cancel / change a booking?
  • Yes you certainly can. We request that you contact our office by telephone (03) 377 4851, for all cancellations and appointment changes. We do not accept after hour’s answering machine cancellations. We understand things can change at the last minute however we request that you let us know by telephone at least 2 hours before your appointment time. We regret we must charge a cancellation fee of $25.00 if sufficient notice is not given. In all cases we will be fair.
  • What if I choose to end the appointment?
  • You are well within your rights to end any appointment for any reason at any time you choose, however we ask you to settle your bill at the end of the appointment. The minimum call out fee of $45 plus any extra time used to this point, plus any required parts will be payable at the end of the appointment.
  • What happens if my computer cannot be fixed?
  • Our technicians will never waste your time and money. If we feel your issue cannot be repaired then we will recommend other options to you before taking your booking.

    If we discover during a visit your computer is beyond repair or a repair solution is not cost effective, we will inform you and discuss our recommendations to get your computer up and running again. If a computer system replacement or major upgrade is necessary we will certainly offer some professional and honest advice to get your computer problems sorted out.

    While this situation is not an ideal outcome,our technician’s time in attendance will be chargeable at the end of your appointment.
  • What happens if the repair cannot be completed on site?
  • From time to time more complex repairs such as notebook LCD replacements and major hard ware upgrades may require us to complete the service at our workshop. Of course we will inform you of the need for offsite service at the time and provide you with an offsite service form for your protection. Depending on the repair required we should have your computer hardware back to you within 2 days.

    Some repairs require us to order replacement parts from overseas locations, which may delay the repair process. In this situation, parts will be pre-ordered and another appointment booked to collect and complete your repair. Delivery of ordered parts typically take up to 7-14 days if sourced from overseas. Urgent repairs may require over night shipping which may increase your repair costs. In all cases we will do everything in our power to get your computer fixed as quickly and as well as possible.

    Should your computer or computer hardware require off-site servicing, we will deliver and return your machine or hardware at the original booking service location without additional charge.

    All offsite repairs are charged at the standard rate of $15 all-inclusive for each 10-minute block of time. Parts and freight additional.
  • What if the problem is corrected in less than the 40 minutes provided in the minimum call out fee?
  • We charge a minimum call out fee of $65 which covers the first 40 minutes. Should your repair be completed in less time we are more than happy to spend the remaining time answering any questions you may have, offering advice or giving your machine a quick check up.
  • What are your payment terms?
  • We accept cheque, cash or bank deposit as suitable forms of payment. While we do not currently have EFT-pos payment facilities, payment by credit card is available on request. We are happy to invoice you for our services but request payment within 7 days.

    Regular service contracts such as our ‘OhNo! Care Plans’ require payment monthly by automatic bank transfer or bank deposit.

    All hardware and software sales including custom computer builds and online purchases require payment by bank deposit before the item is shipped or collected.

    Web design contracts are handled on a per project basis and typically require a full project brief to be prepared based on your requirements before a quote is prepared. A 25% deposit based on your project quotation will be required before design work is commenced with full payment due upon successful competition of the project. This deposit is required to cover setup and related costs.

    Payment for services such as domain name registration and web hosting require full payment prior to the service being supplied. Web design packages require payment in full before the service is deployed and setup.
  • When do I pay you?
  • We ask you to make payment on completion of our service. We are happy to invoice you for our services however we request full payment within 7 days from the invoice date.
  • Do you provide a tax invoice?
  • Yes will provide you with a detailed job sheet and tax invoice at the end of your appointment.
  • Can I pay you with Internet Banking?
  • Yes, that is just fine. Our bank account details are provided on your tax invoice. Please ensure you enter your invoice reference found at the top of the invoice as a reference when you make your deposit.

  • Can I feel safe with an OhNo technician in my home?
  • Yes, you most certainly can. We background check every technician including a security clearance by the Ministry of Justice before they commence employment with us. Rest assured you are safe with our technicians.
  • Is it ok to leave the technician to work on his own in my home or office?
  • No. We do insist that an adult is present in the home during the entire service. This is for security reasons and protects both parties.
  • My office computer contains sensitive business information can I trust OhNo?
  • Absolutely. Although it is sometimes necessary to view private customer information during the repair process, our technicians do not and will not view or examine any files or private data at length unless absolutely necessary to solve your particular computer issue.

    We take customer privacy very seriously and you can be assured of this each time you use our services.
  • Is it a good idea for me to make a backup before your visit?
  • Yes, we recommend regular backups even when your machine is running well. There are many unknowns in computer servicing particularly when dealing with virus / malware infections or hard ware issues so a complete system back up very sensible. We offer a complete backup service which can be added on to any fixed price or time based service. If you prefer to perform your own backup and need assistance please contact us for help.
