Various models of Apple iMac G5 computers are prone to capacitor failures on both the logic board and the power supply units. You will typically see lines and garbled graphics appearing on the LCD display, suffer random shut downs and notice applications failing to start. In some cases your machine will refuse to start at all. We can identify and replace failed or failing capacitors on the logic board and in the power supply and get that G5 iMac working again.

- How does the capacitor replacement work?
- We start with visual inspection of the logic board capacitors in your iMac for evidence of failure which is typically indicated by capacitor bloating or leaking. We then examine the capacitors inside the power supply for failure. We charge an inspection fee of $45 for all iMac logic board and power supply capacitor faults which is absorbed into the final price should you agree to the quotation we will provide you.
- Do you provide a guarantee?
- All capacitor and power supply replacements are backed by a 3 month guarantee. If the replacement capacitors fail within 3 months we will correct it without charge. It is important to note that any electronic component level repair or component replacement places a lot of stress on electronic circuit boards due to the de-soldering process when removing capacitors, we will always try our very best to provide a suitable solution for you should our attempts to revive your iMac fail.
- Can all iMac G5 computers showing the classic LCD lines start up issues be fixed?
- Yes, however all repairs are not the same. In situations where other issues and faults exist repairing your iMac may not be a cost effective solution. In all cases we will try our very best to get your iMac working as cost effectively as possible.
